Outpatient Rehabilitation

Therapy to help regain mobility or self-care skills.

Outpatient Rehabilitation

Not just any outpatient rehab.  Senior Smart brings you an experienced team of professionals with a mission:

Our goal is to keep our clients independent and thriving in the community.

Our therapists are trained to rehabilitate clients who have lost mobility or self-care skills.  Senior Smart therapists go an important step further:  We offer home safety and accessibility evaluations.  Based on the client’s specific needs, we tailor the therapy interventions to help ensure our client is able to function independently within the home.

Our Therapy Team:

Physical Therapists:  The physical therapist (or P.T.) evaluates and treats individuals who have lost strength and mobility due to illness, injury or surgery.  They develop a treatment plan based on the individuals’ deficits.  Through a variety of interventions such as strengthening, balance exercises, and stretching, the client regains freedom of movement.  The P.T.’s goal is to maximize mobility and minimize the risk of falls.

Occupational Therapists:  The occupational therapist (or O.T.) evaluates and treats individuals who have lost independence in the area of self-care skills such as bathing, dressing or self-feeding.  The O.T. is also an expert in home safety and can provide suggestions how to minimize potential hazards in the home and maximize functional mobility.

Speech Therapists: The speech therapist (or S.T.) has three areas of focus.  The S.T. evaluates and treats clients who have problems with communication, swallowing difficulties, or cognitive deficits.  The speech therapist is an expert at helping clients correct or compensate for difficulties in these areas.  Speech therapists can improve the quality of clients’ lives through highly specialized treatments.
